Description:

This robust and sweet chili pepper from the Aleppo region of Syria is rich in flavor without adding too much heat. Aleppo Pepper is dark red with a fruity, sweet and sharp taste that adds a gentle edge of Mediterranean flavor and fragrance. This Chile is from the Aleppo region of Syria, which is considered one of the culinary meccas of the Mediterranean. Also known as Halaby pepper, the Aleppo Chile Pepper is sun-dried, seeded and crushed. Aleppo Pepper with its moderate heat level makes it a versatile ingredient in most dishes. Substitute for Paprika or use it for authentic Chile flavor in any Mediterranean dish. Some Indian dishes use this Chile as a seasoning because the complexity can stand alone.

Crushed Aleppo peppers. 

Try Aleppo Pepper in place of regular crushed Red Chiles on pizzas, salads, and pasta. The vibrant flavor is delicious in chili, grilled chicken breast, steak or chops. Sprinkle on potatoes, tuna or chicken salads or use in soups, salads and fish. For a zesty change, use it to rim the glass in place of salt with your next mixed drink!

Recommended Preparation Instructions:

Great on any red meats (beef, lamb) or chicken, as well as in soups. with moderate heat does not overpowder a dish and adds an authentic Mediterranean flavor.  Just add as directed.

Substitutions: Ancho peppers or mix four parts of sweet Paprika to one part of Cayenne pepper.
