Description:
These small oval-shaped Chiles provide an intense and short-lived heat that is more intense than that of Jalapenos. Pequin , also known as “bird pepper” is commonly used as a spice because of its tiny size, this chile measures ½ inch in length and only ¼ inch wide! These small, oval shaped chiles with tapered ends mature to a rich orange-red color. They often grow wild in the mountains of Mexico. The flavor is hot and smoky with sweet, citrus undertones.
