RED MATTA RICE
Description:
This Indian red rice is grown in the southern part of India. This region has been producing this rice for hundreds of years. Red Matta Rice is considered a brown rice because of its intact outer bran layer. This burgundy colored bran layer is what gives Red Matta its name. Red Matta Rice has a lengthy cook time, about 1 hour to cook fully. Red Matta Rice has an earthy, nutty and robust flavor making it an enticing accompaniment to lamb, beef and wild game. Cook in your favorite stock for enhanced flavor. A healthy alternative to white rice.
